Friday I spent most of the day running Authors back and forth between the Hotel (the Pasco Red Lion) and Kennewick High for their presentations to various English Classes. One of those had Kimber in it, and that particular Author said that it was her favorite class of the day, they were a bunch of Firecrackers. Then, we found out that Kim had, in fact, paid for a flat for Kimber's art, so, after a day driving around, I got to run Kimber back home and pry some art loose. She managed to find 4 drawings she felt sort of comfortable putting up, and we printed them out with photo quality ink on photo quality paper. Then we went back to the hotel and were able to frame 3 of them, and we posted the fourth without a frame.Saturday was a general con day, I did a lot of walking around looking at stuff, and then I judged the Masquerade. It went fairly well, in spite of the fact that the new lady who was running it this year didn't manage to leave a lot of time for the pre-judging. She told me later that she had learned her lesson and would ask for an hour before the Masquerade next year. It should make next year go even more smoothly. Then Kim took me to dinner for Valentine's Day since Sunday was going to be very busy.
Sunday, apparently just before the Art Show closed there was a run on Kimber's art, because I was informed that she had sold all four pieces. I was quite happy, and Kimber was a little dazed. There were even people asking if she would be taking stuff to SpoKon in July. She earned $70 all told. Of course, she'll have to turn around and spend some of that on mattes for new prints, but still... I suspect that I won't have as much of a problem prying stuff out of her next time.
