The dyes Kim bought me are on the right, my steamer and other equipment are on the left. I took a whole bunch of pictures, but none of the yarn until it was dyed, so the other pictures aren't that interesting.

I used Fire Red and Sapphire blue this time, on Natural superwash sock yarn. (Superwash means the fibers are treated so they don't felt) I mixed up a cup of red and a cup of blue and poured each on opposite ends of the skein, (when they were on plastic wrap) then folded the plastic around them and mushed the dye around until it met in the middle, in this picture.

The red is to the top and the blue to the bottom. I should have taken pictures before I got here, but I was having so much fun, I forgot.

I steamed the whole thing for 2 hours to set the dye, then let it cool, and rinsed. This is what it looked like wet, after rinsing.
And this is dry, and wound into a skein. You can also see the angel that ARM got me for Christmas this year. I think it's very pretty. I believe it's a birdfeeder, but we don't bait the birds for the cats, so it will stay inside.

Perhaps I'll have it hold potpourri.
